Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
